6.
OPENING
"Open your soul to the Divine consciousness, and
from this position, view and examine things. As long as you have not chosen
and accepted God as the Object of your love, you can achieve nothing. Your
thought must always be concentrated on God. There exists no power which
could then bring you harm."
"Open your heart widely so that Divine warmth can flow into it and
you may experience Divine Joy and Gladness. Open widely the door and windows
of your home so that the Divine Light can enter it. This mill help you
to set your way straight. Open your soul widely so that Divine Power may
enter it and make you brave and resolute."
"And thus the doors to your mind and your heart must always be open
in order that you may be able to hear God's Voice telling you: Leave your
old limiting concepts. Leave your old life and enter into the new one with
a new understanding."
With the right hand and then with the left, one makes horizontal bow-like movements in front of the body. This exercise is meant to resolve certain contradictions of thoughts and emotions. The movements of the right hand resolve contradictions of the mind while the movements of the left hand resolve those of the emotions. Human hands send out certain forces which remove obstacles. This is the movement which removes the obstacles from the path of the soul so that it can begin to ascend. The movement of the hand from the chest outwards represents opening while bringing it back to the original position represents closing. In order to enter into Nature, you must open. And once you have entered, you close, i.e. you must not think about what you have left behind about the old. The gate of the past must be shut while that of the future needs to be opened. It is the present which does the opening. That is why this movement can also be called a method for the correct opening and closing of the door, symbolizing the correct way of drawing conclusions in the realm of thought and feeling.
