It was in the early spring. The day was clear and windless. The sun was melting the snow, and the waters rushed down into the valley from all around. Life was increasing its flow with a renewed rhythm.

We were in the mountain with our beloved Master. Three colors combined harmoniously: the white of the snowdrifts, the blue of the sky and the young green. The Breath of the Eternal One enlivened everything.

The Master said:

"Think of Him who has given you everything and whom you still have not come to know. You must acquaint yourselves with the Absolute Reality: with the One who was the first to give His Love to us.

"A deep understanding of man's inner life is required that man may bring his human aspirations to right realization. When man does not perceive the Divine within himself, his most sublime aspirations will vanish. In such a case, there is no pillar of support that man might bolster himself with.

"Every thought about God - as faint as it might be - is like a spark. Every thought about God will bring you a Blessing. Direct your minds towards God, and your original state of being will be restored. A Law states: the moment in which man makes a connection with God, he will receive His Thoughts. For as long as man maintains this connection with the Intelligent Center of Creation, he will be the bearer of Divine Thought. Another Law states: whenever man thinks about God, a steady flow of energy will pass through him; he receives the Power of the Divine World and all of his capabilities will develop normally.

"Whenever you think about God, Divine Power and Thought permeate you and re-patterns you. It is the same relationship as that of the mountain peak to the valley. When the snow melts on the mountain peak, the waters rush down and everything in the valley begins to bloom and bear fruit.

"When man holds in his mind a sacred thought about the Almighty, he will have Light in his mind and warmth in his heart. One must understand this to be a fundamental sacred Idea which he should build upon.

"Now your thoughts are scattered. They resemble disconnected chain links. And yet when a thought about God comes, it connects all of the links and makes a chain. The Law states: let the chain not be broken that the Divine Flow of Life will not be interrupted. This Divine Flow must never be broken.

"All are now in need of that force which sustains life, that life force which emanates from God. All are in need of the life force which proceeds from God's Joy.

"Man must connect with God; that is to say, with the Infinite Potential of the living Cosmos. Only then will he attain that Light which bears all favorable conditions for the development of the mind, heart and will. This is the only way in which man is able to build up his life and to organize his forces. The one who strives to improve his character and attain an illuminated consciousness must connect with the Intelligent World. The moment in which man connects with God, his sky will become cloudless. Strive to restore this Divine connection. Man will attain great knowledge when he is able to maintain this connection. Should he lack this connection with God - with his Eternal Teacher - he will attain nothing.

"The mind is a mystical rod. Use it to draw a mystical circle around yourself that you may be protected. How will you do this? Only by thinking about God is the mystical circle drawn. When a person is connected with God, he is protected: wherever he may be he will be safe. When man is not connected with God, danger lurks everywhere. When I encounter a bear, I say, 'God dwells within this bear.' Then the bear has no desire to cause me harm. I encounter a thief - the same.

"How will the new be different? The connection with the Divine, A Law states: all error will be atoned for when the connection between the human soul and God is restored. This is the Law of the Universal White Brotherhood. This connection has not yet been restored. Open the way for the Divine to enter into you that you may have Peace.

"Because you are not presently connected with the Evolved Brothers and the sublime World, your spiritual forces are in latency. The energy which emanates from the sublime worlds remains in your lower nature without manifesting. When you connect with God, right use is made of these forces and contradictions are easily resolved.

"Another Law states: whenever man connects with God, he becomes reconciled with God. God's Blessings will then manifest in such away that man will reconcile with all his enemies. Whatever may happen in the world, maintain your connection with the Great Origin of Life and be not afraid.

"Whatever thought one holds about God, so will he be as well. The moment in which one starts to doubt God, all endowments that have been imparted to him will be lost.

"Even when you are in the midst of the greatest hardship, remember that God remains unchangeable. Should you feel God's Presence -even for a moment - all your adversities will melt away as the ice does. If you have faith in God, even the 'hell' in which you live will be transformed into a paradise. This is a great Truth. During times of hardship, man must depend upon God. To do this - man must be strong. Should your home burn down or should any other hardship come into your life - and should this be capable of breaking your connection with the Great Center of Creation - then you are not a person who lives mindfully.

"If a thought is not applied, its form is destroyed, but the thought itself remains as a living essence and abates - returning to God. It becomes lost to you as if you had lost your children. When man interrupts the connection with his sacred thoughts, feelings and desires - he interrupts his communion with all Intelligent Beings as well.

"A person's sacred thoughts are this medium through which man comes in contact with the Great Intelligent World. Should a man destroy his sacred thoughts and feelings about God - along with this - he will destroy the most precious part of himself. It is only through these sacred thoughts and feelings that he enters into communion with Him. When man keeps sacred his thoughts and feelings about God, he will be a Citizen in the Kingdom of God. All of man's thoughts and feelings are born from the sacred.

"When man does not live rightly - this is of concern to God. He desires that all error be atoned for. When we abide in God, we become conduits of His Blessings. And god desires a Blessing which comes from Him to be passed along. God desires that His Blessing be made Manifest.

"One thing is required of man: to have veneration for God. All things which come from God are made available to man when he is connected with Him. When this connection is lacking, he will remain an ordinary man: nothing will become of him. When one comes to know God, the conditions of his existence will improve; otherwise - they worsen. I have tested and verified this - and I pass it on to you. When a person is connected with God - this will enable him to understand the material existence, to rid himself of error and attain his ideal.

"In reality, even the one whose error is the greatest remains connected with God. At times, however, it would appear that he was not. In such a case, God loosens the bond and the man moves further away from Him. Some time later, this person will again have the desire to draw closer to God. God will then wind up the thread on the spool, and the man will approach Him. I speak figuratively, of course: this connection is never interrupted.

"The sacred thought about God is more powerful than any other in man, but now this thought would appear to be weaker than ever before. It is not that it is weak: it is waiting for its time."
