Between man and Nature deep ties of relationship exist, and man needs to guard them. The rising of the sun is a most beautiful moment which we should not miss, especially in the spring.
The Master would go for a walk almost every morning accompanied by friends. We would meet the first rays of the sun from a beautiful mountain peak. The Master had talked a lot about the sun, yet there was always something new to say about it:
"Beautiful is the raiment of every living being who rises early before sunrise and works with Love. If one does not rise early and does not work, he will be ordinary and poorly attired. All living beings are expected to do some work. The more conscious they are, the greater is the effort that they must apply. If a man wishes to be young, he needs to rise from sleep early when Love whispers to him to rise. Love says to him, 'Get up before the sunrise!'
"During the spring months, it is important to make use of the renewing powers of Nature. Even one open window has a certain influence. Yet if you are aware that behind the window there is an Intelligent Being who is opening the window, the influence is different. I will interpret: every morning the sun rises in the east. In the rising of the sun, we need to perceive the Intelligent Beings.
"To meet the sunrise is always beneficial even when the sun is covered by clouds, because its energy permeates the clouds. In all cases, the sunrise brings an upliftment in man.
"This living energy only comes in the morning. For every task there is a fixed appointed time. He who wishes to become a man of genius, needs to go out every morning and greet the sun. He needs to allow these mighty forces to work on him.
"Get up early! Go out! Greet the sun! What wonderful things are hidden within the rising sun! If one goes out regularly in the morning, he will receive inspiration.
"The first violinist in Nature is the sun. The first ray of the sun is the first aria. If you observe the rising of the sun without feeling its music and its message, you are in the position of the financier who adds and subtracts numbers - who makes calculations all day - without gaining anything.
"Expose your back to the sun; think about it, and you will receive its energy. At those times when you are ill-disposed, stop whatever you are doing, go out, turn your back to the sun for a while and then continue your work. You will receive from the sun something which no science or philosophy can give you. The light itself is the outward expression, but within it there is something quite refined: within it are the vital Conscious Powers of Nature."
