Contemplation involves in itself a passive state when you let either the world of objects, i.e the material world, or the Spiritual world to have their effects on you. After acquiring a state of meditation, the person focuses the attention on a certain object or a certain idea and let them act on one’s soul. One should merely observe what influence they will have on the soul, what kind of thoughts, feelings and experiences they will originate.

You could contemplate the beauty and harmony in the external Nature. One could contemplate an ideal image, for example, the image of Christ, or that of the Master. Then one should strive to vivify this in the consciousness, and to reach gradually the level where in the physical image one will be able to see the spiritual image of Christ and the Master, or some other great person. In this way, the powers that work in the consciousness of Christ and Master will gradually start working on the disciple and to organize one’s Spiritual body. The disciple could also contemplate the works of the great artists – Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo and others, and to strive to perceive the idea that the artist put in it. It is possible to contemplate some idea, about which an image is being created– how the idea turns and finds expression in the image. In the state of contemplation, the human being could enter into a connection with the soul of the things, and it could reveal the secrets and laws of its manifestation. Goethe, who knew that law, used the contemplation as a method in his scientific and literary works. You could also contemplate the colours of the rainbow. They come to life in the consciousness and connect the person to the Beings from which they have come from. Likewise you could contemplate the starry sky and let the stars to have their influence on you, or to strive to feel them as living beings, to connect with them and receive the blessing of the Beings that live on these stars. There are thousands of things for contemplating that have an influence on the human soul and awaken powers within, which organize the Spiritual body and develop its organs.
