Prayer, Cogitation, Concentration, Contemplation, Meditation

The prayer, in a pure occult sense, is a real concentration, contemplation and meditation. For during a state of prayer, when it is grasped in that sense, one forgets about everything around and devotes to contemplation of the Divine forms. As a result of the contemplation one reaches a certain revelation.
Cogitation, concentration, contemplation and meditation are more special methods. They are for those, who want to re-create their thought, feelings and will and then to direct and control them according to the will of the Spirit. By these methods one develops one’s spiritual organs and gradually establishes contact with the Spiritual World and the Rational Beings of the Cosmos.
If one wants to develop rightly and pass from self-consciousness into superconsciousnes, it is necessary to take a successive course where to test the things. For this purpose one have to study the lectures that were given by the Master, to do the exercises exposed in them, and also to apply the specified methods because they are not given accidentally, but they are an integral system of work for the disciple. The disciple should also explore the Sunday talks and perform the experiments that are given there. In this way, one could apply consecutively all those methods necessary for the development of the Spiritual body. Many methods are given for cogitation, concentration, contemplation, meditation, prayer, service, application of Love, application of Good and Justice, for acquiring patience and moral stability and many others. They include on the one hand everything necessary for the disciple before entering in the Path, and on the other hand everything that is required for going along the Path itself until one reaches the high peak of Perfection.
The first thing the disciple should start from is the acquisition of Purity and moral stability, i.e. developing of moral nature at the base of which stands the acquisition of Purity. Besides, the disciple should start to cogitate over the great Divine ideas, in order to organize and master one’s thoughts, which is a powerful force for working in the path of one’s development.
